3.5mm Jack Problem, Please Help.

So I use my phone as my Music Player when I am in my car. Today on the way to the Hospital, I turned off the car and took the plug out of the jack. Now the Headphone icon stays at the top of the taskbar and won't go away no matter what I do. I noticed the problem when I made a call and would hear no one or no one hears me either.
I have used a Air Blower and Blown the hole incase something is causing this, NO Luck. I have inserted and moved the headset out , no luck.
Funny thing is when I put in the plug and jiggle, it calls my last dialled number without me dialing, or it triggers voice command to start.

I did a Hard Reset, and it still appeared then went away after a while.
But returned again when I restored my phone from back up of a Day earlier.

Please, anyone else experiencing this? What can I do? Any input is much appreciated. Thanks

Guys Please Help Me, I beg of you.

Re: 3.5mm Jack Problem, Please Help.

Sounds like one of the contacts is outta wack, shorting the phone into thinking it's plugged in, etc.

Other than taking the phone apart, you could try carefully inserting and taking the headphone out a couple dozen times. Maybe use a friend's headphones, or best would be the official '4-pole' headset to plug in there. The 3.5mm 4-pole that goes into a BB would also do the trick for what you're trying to do.

Eventually this will cause problems no matter what. I'd call up the carrier and tell them what happened, they should replace no charge - probably with a refurb.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I did just as instructed and it worked out. It's exactly as you said. But it comes back once in a while, but does not stay for long as it did. Kind of like less than 3 seconds, then its gone. I have sound now and all is well. Thanks again. I guess I will have to carry a spare headset with me now just incase LOL

I had the same problem. I lost all sound, and it lasted through two soft resets. I finally plugged in some headphones, heard the sound through them, unplugged the headphones and everything worked again. This only happened once for me.
