Turn off text-to-speech?
Somehow I changed a setting on my phone that makes it read my text messages to me when I open them. How do I turn it off?

most probably changed a voice commander setting. Just go to settings > voice commander > change the messages options

settings>personal>voice command(or where ever the app is).. check messages(text) box..
VIOLIA! text to speech.. *NOTE* it only works the first time the message comes in.. just FYI
