Re: phone as wifi adapter

You don't have to pay for tethering. As long as your not downloading torrents, just download the XDA Wifi Router.

I'm not sure if you can share WIFI through USB. That's getting deep...

Re: phone as wifi adapter

not sure this is what OP meant, i dont think hes trying to share his phones internet connection via his carrier, i think he wants to connect his phone to an existing wifi network, and just use his tp2 to connect to that wifi, then share the wifi to the laptop via activesync or something similiar. Im not sure Wifi router does this.. altho I could be wrong as Ive never really used it for this purpose.

I believe pdanet does, it allows you to pick your connection type, being sprint, wifi, or dialup.

Re: phone as wifi adapter

The latest version of WMWiFiRouter (wmwifirouter.com/features/) does work, but it is not free. Not sure if the earlier free version supports WiFi to USB...

i'm pretty sure no one on this site pays for tethering on their sprint plan. just do some research, flash a custom rom and use your phones evdo connection through the usb port.

Re: phone as wifi adapter

To the Op, try it and let us know if it will work. On another note, our phones internet connection via usb is pretty decent by itself. Unless you are trying to download tons of stuff while doing this, your Sprint internet connection is enough to pretty much have you browsing with no problem.
