This did not work for me. I still get the "bubble alert" after every text. Am I missing something?
==Verizon TP2 with stock rom==
Verizon users have to use a different cab to disable this do a search in this thread or general area.

I just found a way to do this. It uses Rhodium Keyboard Controller.
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...9&postcount=35

I have not tried this yet, but looks like it might work.

My sugestion would be to remap the vol up and down to the up / down keys for everything. Then add a rule for each of the keys you remapped for just the phone appp, mapping it to the original key....

Basically create a new key mapping for the volume up key
Set key mode to "Direct key mapping"
Set "key code" to "40 Down"
Check the "Repeat key press each (ms)" option and leave it at 100

Next you need to create a rule so this key will do something different whilst in the phone app. You want it to actually be the volume up key...

Whilst in the same key mapping, click the plus (+) next to the Rule
A box will appear telling you to pull out the stylus and switch to the desired app, then put the stylus in. So basically make sure the stylus is in before you click on the +, then tap the + with your finger, when the box appears telling you to pull out the stylus, do so, then switch to the phone app, then put the stylus back in its' hole. Once you've done that you should see "Rule 2" in the Rule box.
Change the key mode to "Direct key mapping"
Change the key code to "117 F6 - VOL UP, DONE"
Check the "Repeat key press each (ms)" option and leave it at 100
Click on OK

Now repeat all of this for the vol down / down key selecting the appropriate down or vol down actions.

Once you've created both keys make sure you enable them by tapping the "Update Config" soft button.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Austin,

I saw that thread on XDA and if you read the last post its from a Verizon user that couldnt get it to work:

"
Not working with Verizon Touch Pro 2
Is this suppose to work with the Verizon Touch Pro 2? I even cleared memory to factory default and install just the one cab (cdma 1.3.2) so it would be the only thing loaded and the keys still go dead when it is loaded. Is there something else I should try? I am really hoping that this app will work on my device. It will solve a number of problems for me.
Thanks, Raymond
"

If you find otherwise post back and let me know how it goes.

While your instructions look very specific, on the other hand it looks like a very complicated app to set up. How in the world are you supposed to know the codes for each one of the settings?

Thanks

Re: Touch Pro 2 Tweaks, Hacks, Tips & Modifications

I have installed and currently using Keyboard Config on my Verizon TP2. I have the following mapping working:
long press mute = toggle bluetooth
FN + C = copy
FN + V = paste
FN + X = cut
FN + T = tab

I have not tried mapping the volume up/down yet, but otherwise it works correctly on my phone.

Update: Just tested mapping vol up/down to scroll up/down. It works.

How did you get FN + C to be copy? I can see tab, as it is a key, but not the copy/past/cut actions.

thanks,
dave

OK I figured it out.

use the Rhodium keyboard configure program.

Run it

add key
click the "func" box in the window then hit 'c'
It should "Key: FN + C[31]"
then select:
Key mode: Single/double click,....
Event: Click
Action: Emulate key press
Key: C key
check Ctrl
Send to: OS

rinse and repeat for cut and paste.

Just in case someone else wants to know how to do this.
dave

Re: Touch Pro 2 Tweaks, Hacks, Tips & Modifications

Installed the Disable SMS Notification, it did not work, I still receive Message Sent notifications. The cab file does not appear in my installed programs, and when I attempt to reinstall I receive a message that the previously installed version cannot be removed. Does anyone know how to remove installed cab? I've read that this cab file does not work with VZW TP2s....thanks!
