File Pim.vol

I had to do some hard reboots over the weekend for various obscure reasons and note lack of space after the restore.

I am wondering if this large file can be deleted. Right at the / level.

Also is there a way to get rid of the NASCAR and SPRINTTV and SPRINTNAV applications?

Thanks

to my knowledge, this file contains any personal settings made to the device. usually the process is like take backup, hard reboot and rename the fresh pim.vol to something else and copy the backed up pim.vol to that place. If you are short of space, search for the no push internet and other cab which were posted in the forums to free up space.

For NASCAR and other apps, i tried few things and dont know what happened. i installed the cabs from custom rom threads and then uninstalled them. when i checked the folders after that they are just in KBs so i quit there.

Re: File Pim.vol

which sprint stock rom? the 6.1 or the 6.5 if its the latter i suggest u flash a different rom asap. the stock 6.5 and any other rom built using the 21889 SYS are laden with bugs and stability issues even the stock 6.1 rom works better so id either reccomend that or a 6.5 rom with the 21916 SYS sich as lead rom. but yea i wouldnt delete the pim.vol if i were u thats ur contacts and calendar info i would worry about the cache that the htc album takes up. that can take alot of space.

Re: File Pim.vol

I appreciate the comments. I have always stayed away from the custom ROMs as I do not have much time to tweak them, but as you probably note I bet I spend as much time keeping the stock one alive.

BTW, I assume there is not a working Android ROM to try on the TP2. It does not look like Windows Mobile 7 will be much of an alternative in the future.

ROM, not really... almost fully working Port that you dual boot over top of winMO, and just install via a simple cab, YES!!!

its just wifi, camera, mms(which if you look in the thread about it, ive almost completed that fix), and BT not working.... am i wrong guys?? idk maybe gps too lol... sounds rough i know, but if you can live without MMS and pic taking, its hardley noticeable its not complete... thats how stable I feel it is anyways.. theres atleast a few running it on a daily basis as their sole OS... you can just goto the TP2 Android Forum at the top of the TP2 forum page and find everything on Android for your TP2

and yes WP7 porting does look bleak after todays news
