Two texting programs?

My question is basic but I cant seem to find the answer...maybe im just incompetent with the search function. Is there a way to just use one texting program? I seem to have two different programs depending on if Im on the home screen or the 'start' screen. This also applies for the mightyrom. Does anyone else know what Im talking about? Thank you!

There is an HTC messaging program and there is a windows mobile messaging program. Generally the HTC is fancier looking, while the WM is real basic.

If you want to, there are cabs like "disable HTC messaging" for doing so, depends on what rom you are on. If you have a Mighty rom, I would suggest searching the thread that you got the rom from.

the only Real Thing "disabling HTC messaging" does, is kill your messaging Tab... meaning you cant tap on the message to open it any more... thats it.. everything else is still the same, dunno why people use it.. oh yeah i know, to get pic mail to work right on some Roms.. ie Zenyee cabs..

if you dont like the fancy one, turn the tab off and just start tapping the icon on top when a new messages comes in and go from there.. or add the "mail or text" shortcuts to your cookie tab and use those when a message comes in...
