RemDsktp, issue most likely w/xp pro, network gurus help!

Looking for help, and the issue most likely lies with my PC, not TP2, but hopefully someone here has gone thru this before. Mods, please move if needed.

So, I'm pretty sure my TP2 is connecting with my PC using Remote Desktop. When initiated from the TP2, my PC goes to the login screen, and shows me logged in. I go thru the name and password screen seemingly successfully on the TP2, but then just shows a black screen. I can move the screen back and forth, but it's just black.

When I log back on to my PC, my wallpaper has gone blank (black) and my wireless adapter has to re-connect (this may be normal?).

I've tried the PC registry fix for SessionSize all the way to 80 with no luck.

The PC is a Gateway laptop and is running ATI CCC, which I've heard can be an issue as well.

I've tried connecting through the router, and directly to the PC using WIFI. Again, it seems to connect fine, but I can't see anything. All the appropriate "Allow remote connection" boxes are check, and the correct port is forwarded.

I will have to work on the "Dynamic IP for the router" issue, but need to figure this out first.

I know this most likely isn't a TP2 issue, but hopefully some of you gurus on here will be able to shed some light.

BTW, I'm running EnergyRom.
