Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.7 (WindowsMobile; PPC; Opera Mobi/35267; U; en; Presto/2.1.1))

I have a touch pro2 flashed to pageplus and I called htc about a problem with the 3.5mm headphone thinking something is plugged in. they asked for the serial number and everything else...they say even though im not under sprint im still under warranty! so if its not "tampered with" it can be repaired free.

but I replace my lcd screen and had to solder my connection for the normal phone speaker...

should I send it to them and risk having to wait 2 weeks and still having to pay for repairs?

unfortunately i dont have a solution to fix the 3.5mm headphone jack...

If the "void if removed" sticker is gone over the screw head. they will charge you. there is no if's and's or but's about it.

Look in your usb port i bet you smashed a pin and its shorting.

Re: RMA my Touch pro2 to htc directly

The 6.5mm jack is probably the only thing that really has hardware issues on the TP2... If it's stuck thinking somethings pulgged in, try plugging in a different pair of headphones and unplugging them. sometimes it takes like 20-30 times of doing this to get it "unstuck". If that still doesn't work, you can try a small cloth with rubbing alchohol to clean it out. finally, you can use the stylus to try and free any stuck pins inside the jack.

It's worth a shot. it might work and you really got nothing to lose...

That is the problem. I have seen it on my brother's Touch Pro 2. I probably haven't had the issue since I use a BT headset and never have to plug anything into the 3.5mm jack.
