Important TP2 user info: Battery Case is Cracking

So I've had the TP2 since September. Just the past week Ive noticed little pieces of the battery case falling off around the edges. I figured it was just normal wear and tear as they were little chunks about 1mm big.

Upon further examination tonight, I noticed these "chunks" were the ridges used to keep the case in position on the phone

Now, almost all of the side pieces are broken off. While holding my phone, the only thing that keeps the battery cover on are the clips at the top and the stylus.

When the stylus is removed, the whole bottom comes off the phone about half an inch, being only held on by the top clips.

So let me venture a warning, when doing soft resets, removing the battery, changing SD card, etc....be VERY careful with the case.

All my soft resets have led to the case deteriorating and falling apart. Be careful when removing and putting on the case

(I realize they are only $15 to replace, but thats another hassle I don't want to partake in. Just a warning to you)

My thoughts exactly haha. The case gets taken on and off about 5 times a day.

~5 times a day * ~30 days in a month * ~9 months = 1350 times on and off?

Id crack too!

Yeah, if I had one I'd definitely drill a hole in the cover.
Do you or have you used a software app to reset?

I was always leery about the hole in the cover. Figured I'd do more harm to the case. Never tried it, but saw it many of times.

As for the reset app, I have psShutXP and SPB Soft Reset, yet I'm usually pissed when I constantly have to reset and instead of taking time to locate app or hold down power, I just pull off case and hit soft reset hole. Its a bad habit I have

Re: Important TP2 user info: Battery Case is Cracking

My back case always used to "squeak" as well so I did the post-it note trick on the inside of the battery cover. It works great and eliminates squeaks, but it puts extra stress in the ridges that hold the case on. Guess I shouldn't have done that either :/
