does heat mess up the processor?

hey guys,

ive been noticing my phone has been locking up recently...for instance ill go text message tab put my phone on standby and when i wake it up a little bit later its frozen and i have to press the end key to unfreeze it..is anyone experiencing this? i dont think its a software problem cause ive hard reset my phone and it never happened when i upgraded to the 6.5 stock rom..im thinking its happening cause i left my phone in the car once and it got too hot..which in turn mess up the processor/transistors somehow?

Re: does heat mess up the processor?

what rom are you on it could just be the software. if the phone got hot enough to damage it the chances of it functioning at all are slim.

Re: does heat mess up the processor?

Exactly as Mr.X said. If you damaged the internal hardware most likely it will not function at all (similar to how overheating issues cause the RROD or GPU problems for xbox).

Do you flash dance or task 29 before you flash a new ROM?

Re: does heat mess up the processor?

The processor can take a lot more heat then your car can generate..unless you put it in the engine lol..if it gets too hot and its on it will shut down..also what actually got hot, the phone or the battery?

either way it is not fried..

lead free solder gets molten at about 295 degrees Celsius, at that point your dash would start to warp and melt. your leather would dry out and crack, and so on..... dont think it got that hot.

Re: does heat mess up the processor?

Didn't Mythbusters do a episode on cooking stuff in the car from the heat and it failed pretty bad? I am pretty sure it was some kind of software issue.

Re: does heat mess up the processor?

sprint stock rom is like a three legged cat trying to bury shit on a frozen pond. it just doesnt work out. .

unlock your tp2 and find a custom rom you like. you wont be sorry. faster and stable.
