Re: Hooking the phone up to the computer

soft reset first off, then check your usb cable. I know mine likes mini usb cables more than the official one go figure. Also you may want to restart the computer as well. these tp2's can be finicky sometimes and have been known to have bad usb ports.

Re: Hooking the phone up to the computer

I was going to say a bad USB port on your phone. Those tend to go bad. But, you said it prompts you on how to connect so I'm not sure. I would try, like nevergunnauseth said, to change USB cords, turn off then back on your phone and computer, AND also try another computer. Maybe your computer is just jank. Good Luck!

Re: Hooking the phone up to the computer

just for giggles try this:
start internet sharing, connect and then disconnect. close that window and then connect your phone to the computer.

Re: Hooking the phone up to the computer

its probably a bad usb port then. sometimes the method i suggested wakes up the usb port. i know i had to do it a couple times. just call vzw and tell them whats wrong. if its still under warranty you can get a refurbished phone.

Re: Hooking the phone up to the computer

settings>connections>usbtopc>uncheck faster data sync
or/and
settings>system>battery icon>battery>make sure the box is unchecked (when phone is on, don not charge when connected to pc)

those are 2 things off hand you can look at to make sure the settings are right atleast
