Is this a Co0kie Home Tab "feature"?

Ever since I have run ROM's with Co0kie's Home Tab cooked in, I've noticed something strange. It appears the windshield wiper effect on the home screen when it's raining is running in slow motion. This reminds me of HTC's 1 hour & 2 minute flip clock "feature". Anyway to speed this up besides getting an HD2?

Re: Is this a Co0kie Home Tab "feature"?

It runs slow for me whenever I have any quick links on the home screen. So, I use CHTeditor to remove the quick links (just swipe up when I need to) and all animations run much quicker.

Once in a blue moon I think it runs slow on everyone, but that could also be due to how much you are running in background. Remember its a mini pc. Use settings the person posted above to set for slower phones. should help. restart each time to gage what is best for you.

Interesting...I'll give that a try and wait for more rain, which shouldn't be too far away...

just try it in weather demo mode, but i think sense just lags from time to time. it happens on my tp2 as well as my hd2, but just the wiper. the clouds roll by without any lag.

Looks like the slowness is pointing more to Co0kie's Home Tab than anything else (or really the lack of ability for this device to run it smoothly). In Demo and on the Weather Tab, it runs pretty flawlessly...In fact I'd say that in Demo it runs faster.

Re: Is this a Co0kie Home Tab "feature"?

i have to be honest with you, i just installed cht on my tp2 a couple days ago. i've had it on my hd2 for a while now, and the wiper lagged on my tp2 and i'm on stock. i really think it's sense that lags. it doesn't lag all the time, but even on my hd2 it lags every once and again (before cht).

Re: Is this a Co0kie Home Tab "feature"?

Remember, this mod was designed primarily for the HD2.

From Page 1 of Co0kie's XDA thread:

Quote:
About Performance:
For HD2 users: It was made for the HD2 and it should run nice and slick on it. But I do recommend installing Chainfire's HD2/Leo 3D Driver Patch - it's great.
For non-HD2 users: Keep in mind that this was primarily made for the HD2 and it will be slower on other devices. To improve performance you have options to: reduce the animation level and reduce the number of quick links pages.
General tip for more speed (both for HD2 and non-HD2): Disable full screen Weather animations: Tap to add a new Quick Link and add the "Weather Animation On/Off Switch".
It will then appear as a shortcut in your quick links, and can be used to quickly enable/disable weather animations.
