Connect to shared network drive?

What's the best way to access a shared network drive when your Touch Pro 2 is connected through WiFi (on the same network as the shared drive)?

I used to use Resco for this back in the day, but I don't have it installed anymore. My phone has the "open path" option in the file explorer, but it doesn't work. It just tells me that it can't connect to it.

Is there a cab or something that I need to install or some trick or something?

Re: Connect to shared network drive?

I've been searching, and have not found anything better than Resco for this - it works flawlessly through VPN also.

As for Network Diagnostic of your Pro2, check out vxUtils from Cambridge - excellent ping, trc, whois, etc.

Re: Connect to shared network drive?

The tool you need is called Schaps Network Plugin. It allows you to map a network drive via WiFi and store your credentials for future use.

It's a must have for WM devices. I attached the CAB below.

Re: Connect to shared network drive?

total commander works great for this.. you can map (create a shortcut) a network drive over local wifi, then you can even use wm file explorer to browse it, or continue to browse it with total commander.

Re: Connect to shared network drive?

Getting error 67 when I try to connect to the network share using total commander. Any ideas what that is?

Re: Connect to shared network drive?

maybe double check pc name, folder name, and how many back slashes there are. More good info on it here:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=491323

that link may not be the best. this one is pretty good. also check the firewall. maybe change internet connection on your phone to work instead of internet. i was getting more info searching on xda.
