Thumbs down Black Screen on First post-flash Boot... sometimes

I recently acquired a T-Mobile Touch Pro 2 secondhand from someone who already unlocked it and installed EnergyROM. The seller was kind enough to document what he already did.

I decided to try Silence_012 and the flashing seemed to go fine but when the phone booted I just got a black screen with some dots in a diagonal pattern after briefly seeing the "Black "touch Pro 2" boot screen.

I was able to install both the previous EnergyROM and the stock T-Mobile ROM successfully after this thanks to the bootloader screen.

I then tried MightyROM (latest release) and got a very similar result, except there was some status text at the bottom, pictured at http://mrbsdomain.com/webcam.php.

I know there are alot of botched flashing threads here but I didn't see any with my particular issues. I know one of you fine folks can tell me what I'm doing wrong.

What version of HSPL was used on this phone? Something may be corrupt in the version used.

Your device is a GSM device, and roms you find in the CDMA upgrade section WILL NOT boot on your Touch Pro 2
