Exclamation How to view .mkv video on TP2?

Have been transferring files galore to TP2 today; and realized the .mkv music video does not play on my phone;

i googled; tried windows media player mobile 10, no go;
tried Pocket Player; no luck either;
I see TCPMP seems to have the codecs for .mkv (http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-tcpmp-v0-72rc1.html);

any other suggestions out there?

thank you again!

Re: How to view .mkv video on TP2?

I actually had the exact same question in my head last few days and just found Kinoma Player, I am going to try it tomorrow, but it claims to support h.264/AVC.

mkv is a blueray file. I would think it needs to be converted. Why not download 3gp and mpeg? Those are playable.

Well mkv is an HD Format and not so much a Blu-Ray format.

What you could do is just convert it and use the built in media player. This can be done by going to the Photos/Video tab and then selecting the Album that the Video file is in and playing it there or you can browse to the content in File explorer and play it straight from the folder by selecting the file making it automatically open in the onboard HTC media player.

Here is the encoder I use:

thks for the link; and thanked as well...

the reason i synced the mkv file is to compare the quality of high def on the TP2; just need to find a suitable player;

right now i have the HTC music player, an audiobbok player, and also windows media;

wanted to streamline and minimize the dif. players...

cheers!
