Ever since I installed 6.5 my phone has been at 79 to 90% memory usage. Sometimes when I'm playing a game it will just shut out and go to messages or the home screen. Any ideas?

Re: Is there a way to find out what programs are running?

yes, just open up your task manager... it will show you what processes are running and using memory...or depending on your ROM, hit the drop down in the top right of the home screen... this will show you the main programs you have running... taskmgr also picks up some background stuff sometimes so probably a better overall gauge... one is a little quicker and the other a little more accurate sometimes...

schaps advanced task manager. Acts as the windows 7 task manager with tabs. low memory footprint and can successfully drop your ram usage to start up levels
i.e ~ 37-40%

If you don't want to think about it all the time, try either a less packed ROM, or you could use cleanRAM on an hourly schedule on level 1 or 2 to clean out anything dead that's taking up space.

I used to use fdc task manager but it s really laggy and would sometimes freeze up using the latest tp2 roms. I now only use the above

What programs are you blocking on startup? What special settings for this task manager?

Is that 37-40% RAM WITH HTC Manila (TF3d or Sense) running? If so, that's freakin' fantastic! Please show me how!

Oh, and if it helps in any way, here's my tip of the day:

Interested in having hidden programs visible in the stock task manager?

With a registry editor, goto: HKCU\Software\HTC\Task Manager\Exclusive List\System

This shows a list of programs that run without being displayed in the task manager. I specificlly deleted "Opera.exe" and now Opera will minimize to the task manager when I press "X", and close completely it with the "X" in the task manager when I choose (or I can re-open Opera on the page where I left off).
