Activesync constant resync

I came across this thread google searching, but without much luck resolving it.

WARNING, There Has Been A Change Made To Your Server

The error I see:
"There has been change made on your server that requires re-syncronize all items on your device..." with a yes/no prompt. Yes resyncs selected activesync items, contacts and calendar. No, just postpones the nag for later.

I don't believe I'm loosing contact or calendar data, what I am loosing is speed dials and contact favorites; along with a measure of sanity as the frustration builds. I've also not seen any discernible pattern that would lend itself to a cause. It might happen 1-2 times a week, sometimes 1-2 times a day or more.

The solutions I've seen on the above thread and other googled posts don't really apply to me, as I do not use activesync to sync to outlook on a PC, but only OTA to gmail. My GMail account is set as IMAP. The activesync entries on my handset (I assume) were populated from the gmail setup.

If anyone has any insight I'm at a loss.

I've got the exact same problem and it's a total pain in the a$$. Anyone have a fix for this or something I can do to disable this message?

Use the search function and search google mail. I have seen posts for this issue before tucked in other threads
