Snap dragon have more leads than the tp2.

I agree. I have added custom bezels and trackballs to my old BlackBerry's, but never even thought of changing the actual hardware. I don't plan on opening my Touch Pro 2 though.

If HTC had better QA then I probably wouldn't have opened mine. The end key on my phone started lifting up so they sent me a NIB replacement and the hinge on it was loose compared to my original so I took the hinge off the old one and put it in the new one.

Me = Electronics Engineer by trade..

The simple answer = absolutely, positively, without a doubt, no.

The two processors are absolutely not compatible. different package size, different pin-count, different peripherals, different power requirements.

The complicated answer = anything an be done with the right amount of money.

That's about as good as it gets as far as answering this.

this aint gonna happen. nobody would go through the trouble, its way too small, youd have to get a baby to do it, no mans hands are that tiny lol.

exaggerating but that is the gist

Re: Could a SNAPDRAGON be imported to TP2?

its kinda funny...this has been on my mind lstely. hopefully one day (doubt it)they will make one specific for our tp 2's as an upgrade. or hopefully this can just be as easy as a replace.

and give me a dual snapdragon or someway to overclock the snapdragon like no tomorrow. lol.

It won't happen. The rest of the hardware isn't worth doing a chip upgrade.
It'd be nice...yes. but it just won't happen ever.

Re: Could a SNAPDRAGON be imported to TP2?

Not even the slightest bit technically feasible. The best we could do is probably overclock the heck out of it. I remember overclocking my 6700 from 416mhz to 598mhz, along with the ram from 100 to 150, bus from 150 to 300... That made it hella fast, the bus and ram made the most significant difference. We could do volt mods increase stability (and rather negatively impact battery life, maybe put a hardware switch lol)
