Microsoft my phone

Can you sync more than one phone to a single microsoft live my phone account. I need a way to auto backup data from my mother in laws phone. So I am going to use my phone. But if I decide to use the service can we both sync using the same account. Since I will be the one in charge I was hoping to only have to remember one account info.

Drewcam, I sync all 3 of my phones on the same account. As long as you don't mind all phones having the same exact contacts then it works fine.
I don't know how many it will handle but I do know 3.

Is it possible to just backup the contacts and texts from a phone and not restore them. I was hoping to keep the information separate.

There is only one sync info on that account. The second phone will get the same contacts, text, ect.
What ever you select to syn from phone.
You can not have different contacts from one phone to the other without setting up another account.
