New TP2 cant find service

I just pulled my TP2 out of the box, and am trying to activate it, but i cannot get any service. My TP has plenty of bars...am I missing something?

If you're on Alltel/Verizon, dial *228 and hit 1 when it asks you to program your phone. It might ask for your packing number, so hopefully you still have the packing slip.

Once you complete that process, you should be good to go.

I can't connect to *228 without being connected to a tower. I cant figure out why i'm not connecting to any towers. I'm going to try updating the PRL manually.

Updating the PRL manually worked, I'm not sure why but my PRL (58003) couldnt find any towers what so ever. Once I had a signal I activated online, which didnt totally take, but customer service walked me through manual activation. Now to unlock and Flash.
