new spb shell works much better with tp2

hey guys and gals...I know this is probably in the
wrong forum...but I wanted you to know that spb finally
came out with a version of spb shell that seems to
work great with the tp2. I have only used it for
about an hour but it seems to work much better.

admins..I posted here because previous versions had
problems and this version seems to work GREAT with
the tp2. try it out... v3.5.2 at their website...

Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.80 (Windows Mobile; WCE; Opera Mobi/WMD-50286; U; en) Presto/2.4.13 Version/10.00)

And the contacts button works from the dialer now. Still testing it out now but seems excellent.

Re: new spb shell works much better with tp2

The contacts button on the HTC Dialer only works now if you have WM6.5 on your TP2. I have 6.1 and the dialer issues are still not fixed after loading MS3.5.2. Also, the trade-off was that the HTC Task Manager is now gone for WM6.5 users, but MS3.5.2 has its own task manager, so that trade-off is (debate-ably) liveable.

Or you could use another Task manager like this one:

Has anyone tried this with the new Mobile Shell yet? Does it put the task manager up at the top like the HTC one?

Yes, it's very similar to the HTC one. On the home screen you will not see any special icon though. Just tap the top right corner and the task manager will appear like in the screenshot.

I prefer Easy Today Launcher to SPB MS and Manila. It's free, can put up to 40 app links on the classic Today screen, and uses virtually no resources. You guys can flip and scroll and navigate to your heart's content. I'm already in my app.

Re: new spb shell works much better with tp2

I just downloaded the trial after several frustrations with Manilla on my stock ROM (just got my TP2 a few days ago).

Mobile shell is terrific! In my opinion, it's everything that TouchFlo should have been. I'm still scratchin' my head -- why can SPB make an app that is easier to use, runs faster, uses less memory, and just plain works better than the HTC/WinMo UI's?

Put another way, why can't HTC nor MS figure it out?

Without the Mobile Shell, I might have returned my TP2 and paid the stocking fee...

Just don't add any of the themes that are out there (mskip's,HTC Pure Style etc) with the 3.5.2 version. After installing themes it turns call log font black and unreadable. I reverted back to 3.5.1 and am using a theme by mskip right now. Once the themes are updated I will then upgrade. Not a lot of fixes in this new version though.
