Tv out - q & a

I am trying to get this working.

-Sprint TP2
-Apple iBook AV cable - 3.5mm -> 3way RCA yel, red, white
-HTC EXTusb adapter.
-tried 2 different cabs (enabletvout.cab and nuetvout-102-v1) as well as just changing the reg value to 1.
-also tried changing around the rca cables to the video input on tv..

I was able to get the tv out options to display on the phone, but NOTHING ever went out to the TV.

I hear people are having success with the official HTC tp2 tv out cable.

Anyone having success using the 3.5mm jack on a sprint tp2???

What is the quality of video? Is it spitting out 480 x 800 and then stretching it to whatever size the tv is?

Is video (.avi or .mpg from sd card) smooth and watchable ?

Is text readable when browsing?

Thanks to any and all replies.

No cabs needed.

Remove pin 4 from your HTC EXTusb adapter. Pic here in post #10

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...74#post1184474

Plug in your 3.5mm to RCA cable.

Video quality is definetly watchable...but no HD.

Ive had good luck with coreplayer and divx for mobile, but alot will depend on quality of video being watched.

Hope this helps.

AWESOME! So, this is confirmed to work on the TP2 and get both audio and video? Is there still a need to do the registry hack?

You bet! I use it all the time while travelling from hotel to hotel. I never used a reg hack.

Will removing pin 4 of the HTC Ext USB adapter have any side efects that you have noticed. Not that I use mine that much anymore after upgrading from TP to TP2

i still use my multi-adapter for many things, so i gave up and bought the oem tv out cable from htc. works on ALL htc phones, so i should be good for a minute.
