Will this work on Sprint?

Had a tech guy at Sprint Campus tell me this will work on the network, but I'm wondering if everything will work, network, calls, everything. Found a great price for one, and will buy it so long as it all works. So, I really need to know, but can't get ahold of my contact to find out. anyone here know for sure if all the bells and whistles will be ok on Sprint?

Sprint runs on a CDMA network the HD runs on GSM... see where I'm going with this? It's like running mac osx on a windows cpu

I understand that part bro, but the specs say it's also a WCDMA phone. So it should work right? This is the part I'm getting confused on. when I told the tech guy, he said that because of that, being a quad band phone, it'll work on Sprint. lol I'm only a little lost.

Jim2561 is (or at least at one time was) a Sprint subscriber and he is posting on real-world experience with the Blackstone ... so it may be possible.

Re: Will this work on Sprint?

from the specification of the HD posted on HTC site:
http://www.htc.com/www/product/touch...ification.html
I don't see that there is a band that will work in the US.
Or let me explain it this way the WCDMA is 900/2100 MHz but Sprint's CDMA is 850/1900 MHz.
In other words, no, it will not work, beside it is GSM so far, hopefully they will come up with CDMA one soon, and if I am not mistaken I think I read some where that Verizon is getting it soon, but I can't recall where was that posted, so I would say wait a little bit, you might be pleased later

Good luck

Re: Will this work on Sprint?

Yep it isn't coming, so who ever is with sprint or a CDMA network and wants to use this phone, is going to have to open a contract with a GSM provider. I plan to do that after the new year. Once i can get my TOUCH PRO sold (COUGH COUGH SHAMELESS PLUG HERE TRYING TO SELL MY PHONE) i am going to order the HD from handtec and run it on a t-mobile plan. If i like it enough i may just terminate my contract with sprint and switch my number over to T-mobile....sucks but after having all 3 HTC phones for sprint, none of them compare to the HD.
