SimpleOS is actually rather smooth on the Mogul

I don't know if you guys have checked this out or not but its a full-featured skin for pocketpc. It is essentially an OS on an OS but its pretty slick. I wish they'd convert it into a full ROM but since it uses CF 3.5, it would be a royal pain to try to port it to anything else.

http://simpleos.iroot.ca

I'm diggin it... other than the fact that I haven't figured out how to install and run unsigned apps without permission being given yet... so I had to say yes about 20 times to get it to load lol.

Keep in mind, its still in active development. Not everything works yet. But its getting there.

Oh, and you have to double-tap to open things, just fyi. Holding down the stylus on an object until you get a spinner, is how you get to second-tier menu options.

Kind of cool. It's a Linux/Gnome-looking UI.....nifty. I'll give it a shot just for shits-and-giggles.

Since its a piece of software, its not any different than running any other software on the phone so I don't see what your point is, unless you don't run any programs on your phone and just run the phone application only.

I installed SimpleOS on my 6700 (WM6) and as much as a cool idea, and it does kinda work, it needs A LOT of work yet and some major cleanup.. But I feel they are headed in the right direction and hope they continue development...

yea its a nice app....makes WM look "pretty". It ran pretty sluggish on my Mogul tho...when all the bugs are cleaned up I may attempt at messing with it again....
