Alarm won't go off

I use my phone as my alarm clock. I set it 10:45am, but it never goes off. When I wake up around 11:30 I grab the phone to see what time it is, the time will "flash" from 5:00am (example) to 11:30 then the alarm goes off. My phone is basically right out of the box. I reset it to the factory default and still does the same thing. Can anyone help me out with this? Maybe I am missing something here. I tried the alarm with manually setting the time and with having it get the time from the network.

Shit.

Just tested it on my phone... same thing... GAH! I won't wake up without my phone alarm!

Have you tried testing it by sticking it on the charger and NOT pressing the standby button? I remember with certain 6700 ROMs, alerts would not work unless the phone put itself in standby.

I'm trying that now. I'll let you know in about 15 minutes... since I want to give the phone PLENTY of time to go into standby.

Yeah... it works fine when its on the charger and you DON'T push standby.

Grrr... you'd think they'd get it right after the 6700 had the same exact issue.

EDIT: It also seems that if the phone goes into standby on its own, not on the charger, the alarm will go off.

So basically, don't force the phone into standby if you want to wake up in the AM

I have found during the past three weeks that if I turn on the phone, then plug it into the charger, then press the power button to make it go to sleep, the alarm always works. Anybody else want to try this and see if it's just me?

There's really no point to plugging it in the charger and turning it off though, unless its hooked up to the computer to charge, since that's a lower-power charging source.

But yeah, it works when hooked up to the wall socket, but NOT when hooked up to the computer.

I don't trust third-party apps for something as important as me waking up for my job. Not after PhoneAlarm made me 2 hours late...
