Question about data service

OK, I know this is kind of a noobish question but I've had my mogul for over a year and just found out that sprint added free unlimited data to my account. My question is since my EV icon (sometimes 1X) icon is showing all the time I assumed that my data is on all the time but whenever I connect, it says "dialing #777". Is that normal, or should PIE just open up a web page like it does when I'm connected via wifi?

Thanks,

David

Re: Question about data service

Yes thats normal...all the EV or X1 is telling you is what kind of tower it was able to connect to and how good is the signal.

#777 dials to requests a data connection (Think old school dialup)

Is there any way to get rid of this as I flashed my Mogul to metro PCS and it keeps coming up. I've tried messing with the connections/deleting it and it keeps coming back.

Yes just delete the connection under setting-connection-connection

To get the popup notification to stop, go to settings/sounds and notifications/notofications/connection established and uncheck the box "Display message on screen".

Re: Question about data service

If you have the stock rom the you need to over write the HTC_CM_Guardian.exe in the windows directory with a blank text file named the same. Then you can delete the connection. I would also suggest you use something other than a stock rom.

Is there any way you can tell me exactly how to do this? Sort of like a tutorial or a link to one? Please!
