Should I, or do I need to?

What reasons, if any, and / or, what are the benefits of unlocking my 6800?

Should I? If yes, how do I go about doing so? I have Alltel

Can I do it myself, or do I need the assistance of Alltel?

Thanks

Re: Should I, or do I need to?

It really depends on what you want to do. If you are satisfied with how your ppc performs, then there is no need to unlock. However, if you are looking to upgrade the radio or try a custom ROM, you need to unlock. Read through the stickies in the Titan Upgrades sub-forum and read through a thread by GaMedic which details the process. Keep reading through the upgrades and decide.

What is meant by the radio? I see that people have different versions.

I'm new to this. All explanations appreciated.

the radio is basically what allows you phone to communicate with towers I think, the most important think you need to know is that you have a version supporting gps, versions that are 3.35 or higher do.

What I'm trying to figure out is what radio will give me the best signal strength for a mogul?

Re: Should I, or do I need to?

There is very little difference in cell signal strength with the different radios. But some help with better gps signals.
