Are cheap aftermarket batteries safe?

I just purchased a Mogul and I do not have a battery for it. I've seen some aftermarket ones for as cheap as $6 with shipping but I'm not sure if these will be safe to use in the phone.

Should I try one of these out or just order an official one.

(I already tried the sprint store in my area and they only had used ones and the guy said they aren't allowed to sell those)

Re: Are cheap aftermarket batteries safe?

I found this one when searching through google.

http://jbawholesaleresale.ecrater.co...hp?pid=3400274

I'm just not sure about it though. It seems way to cheap and I don't want to ruin my phone or something with a crap battery.

Re: Are cheap aftermarket batteries safe?

I have used the el' cheapos and they worked fine although they did not last as long or hold a charge as long as OEMs.

Re: Are cheap aftermarket batteries safe?

I have used some cheapos that have lasted better than the original and some that have not. The worst one was a pretty decent battery. Definitely worth the savings to me. I would reccomend you make sure the dealer is repuatble.

I've walked in before and got a free used one from the Sprint store, after telling them I was having problems with it. They just outright gave it to me, no questions asked.

Re: Are cheap aftermarket batteries safe?

I tried to get them to give it to me, then I even tried to pay the guy for the used battery and they still wouldn't do it.

I guess it just depends on how nice the employee you talk to is.
