Text/MMS read reciepts

Greetings to all.

I am new to this forum as I just recieved my 6800 2 days ago, and have 1 major issue that I cant answer. If anyone knows, I would be real grateful for the information.

I have done alot of searching and cannot find a way to get a reciept for read messages that I have sent. On other smart phones it was always an option. Does anyone know how to get that option to work on my new 6800.

you mean like a sent message folder? if that is what you are thalking about there are threaded sms app floating around that make it look like an im pretty nifty

No. On my previous phone (I760) I could set up my phone to request automatic read reciepts. I would actually get a txt when the message arrived on the persons phone.

I know what you mean, as far as I know there is a message delivery receipt...I don't know about a message read receipt. It might do the same thing. DCD 3.2.6 threaded sms allows for this option, can't speak about anything else

DCD 3.2.6? Is that a seperate program or is it somthing that is an option on the phone that I missed. I currently have the 6.1 upgrade on there.

It's a WM6.1 ROM by DCD over at XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=420075

As for that option actually being there on his rom, I can't confirm that as I don't know where to find the option.

If you're talking about what I'm thinking you're talking about, then VzW has done away with this service. I read an article about this, but I can't find a link now.

The problem is that I cant find the option in my software as I did on the 760. I even recieved a few delivery txts on my 6800 from someone that I had sent txt to on my 760 when he turned his phone on.

I believe the option is still available through VZW, but the software option just isnt there, but thanks for the heads up. Somthing else to thank Verizon for...lol
