Opera Mini as Default Browser

I have Opera Mini on my phone and in my opinion it's just an awesome browser compared to the rest out there. What I wanted to know was there some way to make it the default browser? When I click on links in Outlook or ones that are sent to me in a text message, it opens PIE. I hate PIE! It serves no purpose. I do all my browsing in Mini.

Didn't know if someone knew of a reg hack or what I could do to make mini the default for links.

Thanks.

Agree, I like opera mini because its faster the bad part you have to use skyfire for flash video and other things ( I hate the zoom and loading time).

Re: Opera Mini as Default Browser

ok what i noticed about the thread xda was that some were saying it was not stable. the versions of jbed and mini that i have are stable.

so what i would really like to do is just make my current setup default. is that possible with a reg edit?

Re: Opera Mini as Default Browser

If Opera Mini had multiple tabs, I would be awesome.

Well if you leave the reg file as is in the mini.zip then you should install MortScript first because the .mscr file in the mini.zip needs to go in the \Programs Files\MortScript\ folder for it to work.

Re: Opera Mini as Default Browser

In case anyone is interested, I've tweaked the MortScript to include Opera Mobile and Skyfire as well. I prefer having options incase I'm in a non EV area I can use Opera Mini instead of Opera Mobile or if I need to view a page with video, Skyfire would my selection. Thought I would share this with the community. Attached is the updated script. Enjoy!
Attached Files
File Type: zip OperaMini_OperaMobile_Skyfire.zip (572 Bytes, 95 views) Click for barcode!
