Ram Management

Due to the lack of resources the 6800 has, what are some of you using for your ram management?

If I run Opera Mini, send a text message, play a game, check my email, and take a picture I come to a crawling hault. I have the task manager setup to close on tapping X. However I'm still running into several memory leaks.

I start off with about 24mb of ram or 50% when I soft reset, by the time I put my Titan to work I am about down to 13mb or 74%. That's with all programs closed. From there the phone is slow and sometimes becomes unresponsive.

So the big question is when can we expect a hack to use part of the micro SD card for more ram? Or what apps out there will help recover some of these memory leaks? I would prefer to not soft reset my phone 4-5 times per day.

A lot of people seem to like Oxios

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...ighlight=Oxios
download that and run it after you close your apps to free up some ram.
another one is using Quick Menu then theres a "hibernate" feature which will also clear up some ram

Re: Ram Management

Memmaid hands down. MUST have app for the 6800. Also has a built in registry editor and ALLOT of other cool features to make your phone work SO much better.

Re: Ram Management

Quick menu......it can also display the %MB in the corner next to the clock....that way you know when to hibernate and close apps.....you can also close all or just simply click 1....take a look...

I use this as well. It helps some and you don't have to soft reset quite as often.

Re: Ram Management

I downloaded memmaid and am really not impressed. When I started it I had 13mb of free ram. Once I ran reclaim my ram, it increased it to 14! That too me is not a significant amount.

This oxios everyone is speaking of, how much would that restore? After a soft reset I typically have around 24mb. If I run TomTom it drops down to 16mb. What I want to know is where did the 8mb go and why can't I get them back without soft resetting?

Once I get down to less than 12mb I'm pretty much screwed and soft reset bound.

Quick Menu doesn't seem to solve the problem... I already have the new WM task manager as well as an app on the today screen that shows me my ram %. I am really looking for something to manage my ram. I know when to kill programs. I want to reclaim the mem leak if possible??
