Noob trying to get GPS on Verizon xv6800... help!

I am very new to WM6 and smartphones. The forums here have been a great help in learning how to change the phone up from its basic look, but I am having a ton of trouble finding info on and trying to get it to be able to use GPS functions.

From what I have gathered (which, like I said, I am a noob and may be wrong), Verizon has the GPS ability locked and the only avenue for it is through their on Ver. Navigator, which is not avaialble for smartphones.

I have seen some posts elsewhere on how to do it, but they were either ultra technical and confussing, and/or I was not sure how well I could trust the source not to give me a virus or issue on the phone.

Any help would be great in aiding me in this dilema

There is a sticky at the top if you back out. I have the 6800 on VZW as well.
You can start by going here to learn How to flash your 6800 to a new rom that enables GPS.

Here is the files that work on my Alltel 6800 but is not just specifically for Alltel. I believe it would work for Verizon too. And the files would not make any permanent changes (It will be erased after a HARD reset)
