gps problems.... had it working

ok so i had my GPS working a few days ago with google maps... it would track and all that jazz.. then for some reason yesterday it would not and i looked into the system for external gps and the program port was on none , kind of odd because i never messed with it.

so i follow the directions and put it on com4, along with hardware on none and baud on 4800, seek automatically.. did a soft reset and it worked.

now it doesnt work again. all it says is seeking gps satellites (0) and it will say that forever.
and if i try to click on my location it says "your handset doesnt seem to be campatible with My location (beta) feature.
and now i cant even do a random directions search. it tells me

"This program requires a data connections, and will retry automatically. In the mean time, please check your signal strength. (Error: wininetReaderror [0])"

im not sure what happened. is this a sprint deal? everything else on my phone works.. text, email, internet.

so then i download microsoft live search, same thing, cant find a gps signal

thanks all

Re: gps problems.... had it working

Happened to me once too, a few months ago. I uninstalled Google Maps, downloaded the latest version and installed it. Haven't had an issue since.

try going into your phone options/settings/location settings/... make sure you select location on not 911 only
