Sprint Mogul QWERTY stuck in "number" mode?

I don't know if it a coincidence or not, but sometime after I upgraded my Mogul to the latest official 6.1 ROM my slide-out keyboard is stuck typing numbers and symbols instead of letters! Has anyone experienced this? If so, how do I fix it? I've tried a soft reset with no luck.

Is your 'FN' led stuck on? I did experience a similar problem once or twice before, but nothing that a soft reset couldn't handle.

I wish that was the case. I can actually toggle the FN key so the LED turns on and off, but it doesn't do anything. If the FN light is on it types the exact same thing as with the light off. So the "J" key types a "5", etc...

Re: Sprint Mogul QWERTY stuck in "number" mode?

Okay...so I did a hard reset and the keyboard is working. This time I didn't allow the garbage software to be installed. Now I am restoring my SPB backup file. Hopefully all is well.

Re: Sprint Mogul QWERTY stuck in "number" mode?

I should probably mention that when I had the same problem, it was with the stock ROM from 9 months ago, so I don't think its specifically related to this ROM.

Re: Sprint Mogul QWERTY stuck in "number" mode?

similar problem....

But when I uninstalled HTC Home.....

Problem went away.....

I have since reinstalled HTC Home----but let HTC Home Customizer pick the version

Mostly solved the little problems but I occassionally still get that issue....

Soft reset does the trick.....

For me----with this new ROM----I can basically tell if I'm going to have little "issues".....

When I turn on the phone and it goes through bootup and you hear the startup music----all will be well.....

If it boots all the way up silently---invariably little "issues" pop up.....

I have not totally found the culprit----or the sequence to totally fix it

I suspect HTC Home---or the customizer......

I may try a combo of just a clock and a small bar that exhibits email, text, Phone calls etc.....as I really don't use all the features of HTC Home and I already use the Weather Channel Application for weather....

I read somewhere that your SIPs function button and the hardware keyboards function button conflicting, maybe that was the problem.

Re: Sprint Mogul QWERTY stuck in "number" mode?

FWIW I've been having the same problem. No solution, but I'm only seeing it in certain apps.

Blade wiki for one and sometimes in the browser...but I'm posting right now from my Titan and it's ok. It's like it's ok for web forms but not for login boxes and stuff.

Very aggrevating...
