The case of the disappearing emails.

Heyas folks,

I'm having an issue where my gmail accounts I setup on my xv6800. After I read an email, or more specifically after it is 'marked read' it disappears from the inbox and can't be found in any folders at all. This happens on all of my gmail accounts (3) but NOT on my Outlook account which is synced with exchange server (work email). I don't have any other emails besides gmail so I don't know if this is specific to gmail or if it will happen with any email account I setup. If someone could offer some suggestions I'd really appreciate it. I REALLY REALLY don't want to hard reset AGAIN. I've gotten my phone perfect except for this problem. Thanks again in advance.

Re: The case of the disappearing emails.

Have you looked at settings to see if read mail is deleted?

I think it is in one of the last steps when you setup your Gmail account, on the phone the first time.

I wanted to ask also if that happened just recently or all the time since you set up the Gmail on the phone, if yes most probably it is the setting.
If No, make sure that you follow the step-by-step instruction in Google's help how to set up the Gmail on the WM phones and make sure you enable the IMAP, because I had problems also with my Gmail when I had it on POP.

and I do not think you will have to do a hard reset, "worse come to worst" I think you gonna have to delete the Gmail account on the phone and set it up again.

hope that helps.

Re: The case of the disappearing emails.

I've determined what was causing the problem. I had it set to store the messages on my storage card. I selected don't use storage card and now my mail is not disappearing.... weird.

Thank you very much for your time 3boos and dallas, I really appreciate it.

Unhappy Re: The case of the disappearing emails.

Really? Setting it to NOT store the messages on the storage card fixed it? Cuz I am having this problem.. but I WANT it to store the messages on the card... comon'! er... well I actually only have store the ATTACHMENTS on the storage card.. I didn't see an option to store the MESSAGES on the storage card... where is that located?
