Re: Mobile Firefox?

Why is it sooo hard to code a good mobile browser? What are the hold ups?
If I knew how to code or better yet, if I ran a company that creates browsers, I would dump all I had into that project now since the PPC type phone is taking offffff. iPhone, Touch, Mogul, Blackberry and all the other newer than new mobile pc's. This market is hunnngry for a perfect browser that works just like at the desk. I am sure that Google is working on one now for their Android release. This is bull**** how companies are half assing it.

Hey, thanks a lot! That makes me feel a bit more secure. I have heard mixed reviews, but I still want to check it out and see what the hype is.

Gracias!

Dude, if you get the invite, you should definately at least try it. User reviews are pretty mixed. But for me, the browser runs flawlessly. Videos are are as smooth as tcpmp or better, and its very quick. (the new .6 version has some nice added features) I'm just saying it worth a shot to try it for a few days. Now i just wish opera mobile 9.5 final version, would be released.

Anyone on beta2 getting invites?
I signed up for beta1 a while ago ... if anyone who didn't sign up till beta2 gets it, I'm giving up ... why won't Apple sell Safari on the WM6 code? They'd make money, although they'd miss out on convertz, they'd still make money on those who don't want iPhones (like me). While I wouldn't pay for Opera Mobile, I'd definitely pay for Safari on Windows Mobile.

I still haven't seen any new news on Fennec. At this time, it is only available for testing by Nokia n810 users (...very gay phone). I did see on a slide somewhere that the "alpha" could be available August 2008 (See slide 14), likely to be in time to beat out IE6 Mobile for download to the masses.

Hope this is helpful.

Re: Mobile Firefox?

I'm a big fan of Opera Mini.
but stumbled across this Mozilla project called MINIMO.
kinda like a Firefox.. nice tabbed browsing, but it did seem a little slow..
for anyone interested.............

Re: Mobile Firefox?

MiniMo is a dead project. It was way too slow and memory intensive.

Even on the Vogue, it was slow as molasses. It also crashed a lot.
