pimp out 6800

I just purchased a Htc 6800 and I want to sorta pimp it out with upgrades BKA modding. just reading some of the threads some things are posted like the reader is a computer expert (missing small steps) and you should no what to do in any case. I think that this is a wonderful site with a wealth of information. I guess you may call me lazy but I work all the freak n time and I wish there was some kinda way to find everything that I would want for my phone (cool upgrades) and more in one place grouped together. If all of the intelletual people that post on this site get together im sure we can come up with a betta and easier method..... I dont mind reading but (cuss here)..... ::"{}":>

yeaah im in your boat. im new to WM phones, so i just read a s**tload of threads and im just learning about everything by reading the threads. theres really no way around it. the search button is great, ~80% of my problems are solved with it in about 3 minutes. good luck, just remember to read the fine print of every cab/rom/...

Well its deff not easy to just jump right in without reading a bunch of information first.

Where to start is up to what you want to do with your phone. You could start with just downloading different programs to customize your stock WM phone (different dialers, today plugins, browsers, SPB Mobile Shell, FTouch Flo w/ biotouch). This is really easy to do as most everything you want would want to install comes as a .cab file (comparable to a .exe install file on windows). You just navigate to the .cab and install.

This is how i got started then i moved to installing other peoples custom roms (pretty much the under lying operating system) to makeing my roms with all the programs and settings i like.

There are really no shortcuts here. Your best bet is to lock yourself in your basement for the weekend with a few bag of chips, your phone, some beer, and your pc logged into PPCGeeks. Spend the weekend reading, reading, reading, playing with your phone, reading some more. When you emerge Monday morning you will be a much better person.

Then i hope it doesnt bother you to have a bricked phone either. I actually recommend this; i basically turned my phone into an expensive music player because no data/calling would go through or connect to the network. VZ took it back, i read A LOT, learned from what i did wrong, and love my phone.

General comment:
I think some people confuse people on PPC Geeks who out of kindness like to help people on this site with Geek Squad people who get paid to help. I love it when I get PM's from people asking how to do something then I send them a link and they don't have time to read it. Easy way to break your PPC? Simple don't prepare before you try to do something you have no idea about. I think the method we have works great and so do thousands of other members that belong to the largest PPC community on the web. I will give you this, Sometimes the search button is a little crazy and worthless but then you just have to use advanced search option.

What's the problem when I download a upgrade and to my phone and the "system alert" tells me that it is not supported and wont let use or run the upgrade. How do I get around that. It run into some cool stuff but can't use it cause my phone wont run the program.
