STILL can't get Google Maps to use GPS function...

What am I doing wrong here? I have set all the settings under External GPS just like the sticky thread instructs. When I use Google maps and click on Find My Location or the Use GPS function, it just sits there for an hour trying to connect to a satellite or whatever. I have even messed with the GPS settings in the Google Maps options and set them to the other settings, to no avail.

Any thoughts here?

My gps didnt want to work either. I broke down and did a hard reset. It worked then stopped. One more hard reset and it has been fine ever since.

What is the version of your ROM.
Start>settings
system tab, Device information.

Mine will sit with 0 satellites whenever I am inside a building. As soon as I get outside I can pull 7 or 8 satellites.

Search for Holux GPS viewe or VisualGPSce on this site. Holux GPS viewer (mGPScmd) works extremely well to prime the GPS, give it a try!

2nd post down - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?p=1862269
I have tried a large selection of 'primer' apps, and have had very hit or miss experiences.... but the Holux has worked for me. every time. it's a great little app. you have to install it via active sync on your PC..
i've uninstalled all the others and Holux is now a permanent member of my phone.

You usually have to goto options and then "Reset google maps" to get it to work again. Thats what I have to had to several times. Give that a try.

Re: STILL can't get Google Maps to use GPS function...

I had this same issue and I used the clear memory feature to take the mogul back to factory settings. Haven't had any issues since. Well besides not being able to sync it or get it to do windows updates.
