Re: RSS News Reader w/ Home Plugin - What Do You Recommend
Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, after 4 hours and numerous crashes, I am going to try something else.
Just to be clear, I am not laying the blame at the feet of pRSSreader, as I am also working on experiments in ROM cooking ... |

Re: RSS News Reader w/ Home Plugin - What Do You Recommend
I've been testing PocketRSS 2.1.7 (got the demo from SoftPedia.com)
The today plugin is *ok*. But needs lots of work. Just easier to keep my pIE homepage as google reader |

Really? I couldn't even get it to launch without it crashing over and over. Hmph! |

Re: RSS News Reader w/ Home Plugin - What Do You Recommend
I'm assuming that you set up a NewsGator account first, then tried to connect to it? Or did you have problems with installation? In any event, NewsGator is the parent company of NetNewsWire and FeedDemon, the two best RSS readers (IMHO) for Mac/PC, respectively. The mobile product keeps your feeds all in sync between your different NewsGator products, so you don't have to weed through crap you have already downloaded/read on your computer. Great interface and most importantly, small footprint and uses bandwidth wisely.

grab the SPB torrents from mininova like everyone else does

Re: RSS News Reader w/ Home Plugin - What Do You Recommend
Insight has very a limited feature set...you can't even email links to the article! Great presentation but I found it severely lacking.
I did make a NewsGator account and attempted to connect to it but somewhere down the road after doing so it would crash. I'll try again, though...Egress just isn't cutting it for me with its horrible caching problems. edit: well, I tried again and it crashed only once before synching up properly. I'm a little bit dismayed since the program insists upon opening up a network connection when I browse my feeds...gotta see if there's a way to have it do everything when the channels are synched, as opposed to when I open up an article. edit 2: wow, I'm definitely not a fan. I have about 10 feeds and upon opening any of them it takes between 5 and 25 seconds to open up the channel, depending on how many articles there are (a range of 30-200). I'm not finding any way to limit the number of feeds to, say, 20 to make this load delay more tolerable. The app just feels horribly unresponsive in general Oh well, thanks for the suggestion, the search goes on...
