Mogul's function key rarely responds!

After having my Mogul since November 07', the function key (blue dot) on the side out keypad is not longer responding like it should.

It only responds when you apply large amounts of force onto the key, otherwise if you wanted to type a bunch of question marks, or any other such character, it'd come out as ee?eeee?

What should I do, I know it's a hardware problem, and i have called Sprint. I have never had to deal with sprint before, for RMA purposes, only other carrier. The tech support said that it would cost $55 dollars to RMA the phone, because I don't have insurance, and if I were to go to UT StarComm for repairs, it would take from 2-3 weeks to return my phone, which I use everyday.

Any suggestions? Please help, it is really annoying not being able to type without any of the function button necessary character!
Thanks in advance...

You should try to add the insurance on your plan, wait a while until it kicks in, then take it to sprint.

Re: Mogul's function key rarely responds!

well, one tip that may help you struggle through it all is:

You can HOLD that function button down, and then press the ? key several times and THEN let the function button up - if your button is't totaly shot that may help...

Re: Mogul's function key rarely responds!

I would go buy another Mogul, send the one that is bothering you to fix, hopefully it will take less than 30 days to fix, when it arrives take the one that you bought back to the store and tell them you did not like it that you are keeping the "old" one. As far as i am concerned sprint has a 30 day return policy. I hope this works for you and entertains others.

Re: Mogul's function key rarely responds!

put insurance on it and take it into repair. theyll repair it and if they can't theyll give you one for free in the store(make sure you go to a sprint that has a repair center). i just got one for free cuz my slider broke and it was cracking my case. make sure u put the 7$ a month insurance on it. you only need to deal with RMA if you broke the phone. a malfunction they will repair if they can and if not free phone for you.

Re: Mogul's function key rarely responds!

is it still possible to add insurance a couple months in?
because on the site it specifically states that it is only possible during the first 30 days after signing up

Re: Mogul's function key rarely responds!

I too am experiencing this same problem. I don't think it's possible to add insurance to your phone past the first 30 days of activating it...

Is there no hope for us?
