Contacts won't sync back to my phone

I just uploaded to the new ROM. I used ActiveSync before I upgraded to put my phone contacts in a folder in Outlook. I have other contact folders in outlook, but only my phone #'s reside in my "Contacts" folder. I was able to upgrade to the new ROM fine, but after I was done and performed ActiveSync, the contacts won't transfer back to my phone.

I've searched the forums before I posted but I couldn't find anything to help. I'm a noob and still learning my way around so I'd appreciate any help you guys can offer.

will anything sync back, calander, notes, favorite or is it just the contacts.
i have had a few problems with outlook flaking on me on my work computer. iv had to shut down the pc and soft reset the phone and then hook them up again before the sync would play nice with the outlook again.

I figured it out-sorta. I unplugged the phone from my PC and I re-synced a few times and for some reason it worked on the third try. I still don't know why it wouldn't sync before but its working now and I'm happy.

I hope my noob post will help other noobs. Thanx for the help and the great site!
