Week old 8gb Micro SD card stopped working.

I bought an 8gb micro sd card on ebay about a week ago. Everything was working fine, I transfered a few videos, music, etc. with no problems. Then I decided to transfer 2gb of music from my computer to the card. About 10 minutes into it had to cancel the transfer because I had to go out. Now neither my phone nor my computer will recognize the card. My 2gb micro sd card still works fine on both, am I out of luck?

You could try reformatting the card on your PC. I had a smaller microSD card give out on me, reformatting wit FAT16 solved the problem.

Sounds like you probably have some bad files/folders on the card. Before getting my 8gb, I had a 4gb micro-SDHC card that somehow had a corrupted file / folder. Many PPC ap's do not handle corrupted cards very well, and some applications would do strange things. When Windows Media player would scan the card for music files, when it started to add files to its library, it would just reboot my PPC. I forget whether I reformatted the card and reloaded it or used windows 'drive scan' utility to fix the file / folder, but once the card was good, the strange problems disappeared.

Regarding your PC, the 8gb card is a SDHC (SD High Capacity) card which is slightly different than SD. Most 'older' card readers (i.e., greater than 1-2 years??) do not support SDHC cards. The solution would be to format the card in a computer with a newer card reader.
