ISP modem

hi there everyone...i am new to the site so here it goes !
i have had a xv6700 it was great now i have the 6800 and its better like most of you know !
now here is my problem !
i have verizon and they charge up the A$$ for date package...$45 its alot!
so here is my idea if someone want to use the modem and connect to like aol or any ISP using dial up,( this is for minor use of internet ) the phone is smart enough to tell Verizon that i am doing data so it uses Kb/s
is there anyway i can fool the phone so it looks like its calling somone so i would use mins and not Kb/s ???
i wish i explained this that your guys would understand !
