Regarding the new ROM, has anybody figured out as to why...

the data connection isn't too consistant and why the signal cuts in and out; also why the EV connection disconnects? Lastly, WTF is up with the siiiick naaaasty RAM leak? Any input guys?

Install the WM6.1 ROM instead... my data connection doesn't drop anymore and I have no data problems. Never had anything wrong with my signal so that's probably something in your area.

Does the 6.1 ROM have the Rev A and GPS in it? I could see maybe if it upgraded on top of what we have and kept the radio but I'm only speculating I haven't really looked into the 6.1 yet.

The funny thing is this; I've never had any problems in my area, most especially at home. And this damn RAM leak, waaaay worse than the stock ROM! And thanks for the tip EtherealRemnant, I'll look into that!

My connection dropped a few times the first few hours, but about the same time it started picking up a signal instantly after a soft reset is when my data problems seem to have ended.

Also, what the hell RAM leak are you talking about?

I've had the new ROM pretty much since it came out, no problems aside from what's mentioned here. As for the RAM leak, at startup, I start with 19mb free, I run SK tools free-up RAM with all four options selected, end up with around 21mb free. On the previous ROM, I would hover around 15-17mb free after I've ran/closed numerous programs and after everything is cached. Now, I hover around 12-13mb free and as low as 8mb free after a couple hours of regular use. When I get as low as even 13mb I run SK tools free-up RAM and it doesn't clear much. I've never experienced a RAM leak like this on the stock ROM that's for sure. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a RAM crazed junky like alot of people on this site seem to be, but I just see a problem with this. Meh, I guess if I choose to, I just have to soft reset an extra couple times a day. Even with that said, I never need that much RAM anyways. Sorry for the rant, just trying to figure this out! Thanks!

PS. And the battery life sucks even more on this ROM than stock. I don't use the GPS too much either. I've had a couple days without playing with the GPS and the battery life still sucks compared to previously.

I'm not the only one who has experienced the RAM leak, but like I said, it's really no BIG deal. I just wanna try to troubleshoot the issue. Sorry! I'm not an uber crazy PPCgeek but I'm trying! =P
