This hap'd on my PPC-6700 (Apache), and now my Mogul...

Hey, Everyone,
I'd started a thread (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=15444) asking if anyone'd ever had their contacts mysteriously walk away, but got no response. Now, the problem's reared it's ugly head on my Mogul, but thankfully I've got PIM Backup. Only'd hap'd once each, though. So, 'ever happen to anyone here, 'possible fix?

What programs are you running on your phone, that is not a common problem for all the contacts to disappear

More oft then not, Pocket Commander Pro v6.01 (background service), Calligrapher v8.5 (may not've had this installed at the time), QuickMenu v2.7, pBar v1.5, Pocket Plus V4, and the contacts were uploaded initially w/ PIM Backup v2.6.

If you have cleared your contacts in Outlook on the desktop be sure that the Desktop is not set to update the Device(PPC). There is a setup change to update the Desktop not the PPC. I did that by mistake, luckily I had another phone loaded with the contacts.

Were the contacts that got erased new contacts that you added on the phone, and were not present on the desktop/laptop? If so, you might have the sync relationship set to overwrite the phone's contacts with the desktop contact list. That's really the only thing I can think of.

edit: ya, what he said : )

Like I'd said, 'only hap'd once each on both my PPC-6700 and my Mogul, but when it did, it was ALL of my contacts. Also, couldn't've been my Sync relationship 'cause I'd never set Outlook up, so it doesn't even sync Contacts (H3ll, I don't use ActiveSync to sync anything, really. 'Just use it for installin' apps and browsing the device).

So, that shouldn't affect it, right?

Ya, doesn't sound like anything to do with a sync relationship. Just to be clear, it was just your contacts that disappeared right? You didn't lose any programs, settings, etc?
