yes try cleaning up your phone go to this tutorial site Digital Architects and navigate to the Maintenance tutorial. Those maintenance issues should be addressed regularily as they are common problems in slow response or functionality of handset devices. Also check your installed programs. If there are any that you are no longer using or can do without, navigate Start Menu/Settings/System/Remove Programs and delete the unneeded software. Then do a soft reset. I am quite confident that this will at least free up some memory for you. report back if frther assistance is needed. Good luck.

How much memory do you have runing for apps? Also, do you have any PPC based cleaning application like SKTools for cleaning registry values, cache files, bad shortcuts, etc? It also has a "Free Ram" function that is extremely useful.

I have the following installed:

Pocket plus V4.0
Slide2unlock V0.97
Weather Panel V2.5.1
SKTools V4.1
Pocket Rar V3.71
Freecell
TouchFlo V1.41
TouchFloConfig V0.9
GoogleMaps V2.0
HTC Home Plugin V2.0
HTC Home Customizer V1.0
RC Mod V2.1
TCPMP
VideoBundle
TouchPal V2.0
Pocket CM V.18

And my device is quite speedy @ 24.5MB of free Ram/138 of Rom. Residual install removal and other applications can be lagging you PPC and a good PPC cleaner will help to free up this lost momentum...

Well, it's kinda hard to diagnose this with so little information.

What have you installed on the phone since you got it?
When was the last time you soft reset the phone (does not lose any info)?
What rom version are you running?
What is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?

ok, looks like you've loaded it up pretty good with lots of items that use a lot of memory.
Your free storage memory is irrelevent for speed - it's the other number that's important - start/settings/second tab at the bottom/memory - what's that say for free. Now do a soft reset, and what's it say for free?

From personal experience, pocketCM is a MASSIVE memory hog. I would dump it. I also find htc home to be trouble but other people like it.

And yeah, the last question was an old Monty Python line from The Holy Grail... showing my age a bit - neo has the correct answer

"You have to know these things when you're the King"

Edit: and yeah, you should reflash to the lastest rom... 2.17 is better - it's not THAT hard to back everything up, flash, and restore. I got used to it when I was flashing every other day with the 6700 rom kitchen. Besides, at least that way you know your data is really safe and your backups are good
