Pim.vol for Contacts & Master Reset

This is crazy, guys. My phone has Master Reset 3 times in 2 days on its own. I dont know what the hell is wrong with it. I go to use phone after I finish my call, I press the end key and its comes back to my today screen. Then it Master Reset's.

I have created several backups of my phone with SPB backup. However I think they may have been corrupted. If I copy the Pim.vol file from this from current mogul to a new Mogul, where do I need to copy it too?

As far as i know you can copy the pim.vol file, but the phone will not let you paste it. I tried to do that with my cemail.vol file when I got my new phone so I could keep all my sms messages but it told me that the file is in use. If you use active sync you should be able to just re-sync your phone and all of your contacts and what not should come back.

Hello all,
I have a Mogul and I am a big fan of this phone and the versatility of this phone as displayed by the users here on this forum. Unfortunately, I have had to Hard Reset my phone after having installed software that decided to take over the phone. I was able to beam my pim.vol file to my laptop via Bluetooth, which is the “Only” way I was able to copy this file off the phone. I am currently using PPCpimbackup to mem card. But I do not have confidence in that just yet. Ok, to get to the point. I use Activesync to connect to the corporate server and check email, etc. I have noticed that contacts that I enter on the phone do not get synchronized with the corporate contacts. Is there a way to make the phone add my personal contacts to Outlook?

If you copied your old pim.vol file paste it in the new phone under file explorer/my device. if it wont allow you to paste it because of the old pim.vol file already in the new device, just rename the old file to pin then paste the new PIM file there and soft reset. after the soft reset you should be able to delete the pin file and you new contacts will be added

Re: Pim.vol for Contacts & Master Reset

Yah, I did the "Rename file PIM to PIM_OLD" trick to get it to work.
