Can you be a little more specific? Do you want to connect your Tilt to your laptop (aka tethering) and use the phone as a dialup modem? Will u be using bluetooth? usb? |

Re: Using the Tilt as a modem.
Thats actually exactly what I am trying to do.
I am trying to tether using a USB cable, I followed all the directions but when I try to use the dial up connection it tells me that it cannot find a dial tone. I am using the stock cable that came with the phone. |

1. Start -> Settings->Connections -> USB to PC (put a check in the box), OK 2. Start -> Settings->Connections -> Connections 3. Click add a new modem connection (follow the setup wizard, enter your settings) OK 4. Find an application on your Tilt called Internet Sharing (could be under programs or under Settings->Connections. 5.Choose the connection type for the PC (in your case 'usb'). 6.Under Network connection, you will find the new connection you made in step #3. 7. Press connect. ***You may have to uncheck #1 if you are having trouble connecting with phone and/or Activesync. (try checked first) This is off the top of my head, so I may have left something out. I use this method with bluetooth so it should be almost the same. |

Re: Using the Tilt as a modem.
I use WMWIFI, and it works great. I live in Alaska and we only have edge speeds. I recently went to Washington and Seattle and loved the 3g speeds While using my phone as a modem/router to broadcast a wifi signal to my laptop, I was getting over 1 meg download speeds. I was sitting in the Airport watching Netfix movies online. It is a huge power hog and will use your battery faster than it will charge. It is reasonably priced, and I love it.
