deactivating push to talk

My girlfriend owns a Tilt and we foolishly activated push to talk and created a username and all. now I want to get rid of the feature all together (disabling only creates that blue icon in the top bar and doesn't go away). I've tried soft reset as well as removing the battery and the sim card but it doesn't appear to make a difference. how do I get of this little pain in the ass?

Re: deactivating push to talk

This might help: How to remap the PTT button on the ATT Tilt to other programs
