i have the same issue, i wish there was an alternate way to lock the screen.. perhaps a third party dialer or one ported from another device might work well.

Yeap, I had the same issue. I think it might have something to do with the early batch of phones VZW sold in the first week. I exchanged mine last week. The sensor is definitely much more responsive. I had it checked on three other phones of the latest batches - they are all good. Hope you still have time to have it exchanged. Feel free to call VZW's tech support to complain about dysfunctional sensor - they won't argue about it. Hope this helps, d |

same thing happens on mine. Iv noticed to be sure to keep the light sensor always close to my face... about the only thing to do

I've noticed it too but hasn't been too much of a distraction. Haven't really had a problem hitting buttons.
