Is anyone else having a problem with the proximity sensor on their Imagio? After a call connects, and I put the phone to my ear, the screen will go off. Cool.

However, it ALWAYS comes back on at some point in long calls, and I invariably activate some other function of the phone by accident with my chin. After the first few times this happened I became super careful about not moving the unit around too much, but it still happens with regularity.

Anyone else having this problem? I'll admit this is my first touchscreen device, so maybe there's something I'm missing?

Thanks.

Re: Proximity sensor problem

i have the same issue, i wish there was an alternate way to lock the screen.. perhaps a third party dialer or one ported from another device might work well.

Yeap, I had the same issue. I think it might have something to do with the early batch of phones VZW sold in the first week. I exchanged mine last week. The sensor is definitely much more responsive. I had it checked on three other phones of the latest batches - they are all good. Hope you still have time to have it exchanged. Feel free to call VZW's tech support to complain about dysfunctional sensor - they won't argue about it.

Hope this helps,
d

Re: Proximity sensor problem

I've noticed it too but hasn't been too much of a distraction. Haven't really had a problem hitting buttons.
